More about Copenhagen


Normal banking hours are from 10:00 to 16:00 hrs. Monday to Friday. On Thursday banking hours are extended to 18:00 hrs. Extended banking facilities are available at Copenhagen Central Railway Station 7 days/week between 07:00 and 21:00 hrs. 
There are ATMs (cash machines) usually located in connection with a bank branch, which accept a variety of international credit cards. The cards accepted are indicated on the dispenser.

Electricity is supplied at 230 volts A/C, 50 Hz cycle. 


The official congress language is English. There will be no simultaneous translation.

Letter of Invitation/visa
The Congress Secretariat will be pleased to provide Letters of Invitation to any individual making such a request up until one month prior to the congress. A Letter of Invitation often facilitates the procedure of obtaining a visa. Please note that the Letter is not a commitment on the part of the congress to provide financial support.

Liability and Insurance
Neither the Organisers nor the Conference Secretariat will assume any responsibility whatsoever for damage or injury to persons or property during the Conference.
Participants are recommended to arrange for their personal travel and health insurance.


The shops are open from 09:30/10:00 to 18:00/19:00 hrs. Monday through Thursday and 09:30/10:00 to 20:00 on Friday and 09:00 to 17:00 on Saturday/Sunday.

Smoking policy

No smoking will be permitted at any time inside the congress venue or inside during the evening events. Smoking is banned in public places in Copenhagen, on public transport, in stores, restaurants and most pubs. Hotels offer special rooms for non-smokers. Please indicate your request on the registration form, when you make your hotel reservation.


Tips are always included in the prices given in taxis and restaurants.


Time zone
Denmark is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) in September.


Transportation from Copenhagen Airport

There are trains leaving from the Airport directly to the Central Station of Copenhagen - Københavns H almost every 20 minutes. You can buy a 3 zone ticket at the ticket dispenser. From the Central Station it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Congress Venue. 


The weather in Denmark in September can be quite nice, but an umbrella might be useful. Daytime average temperature lies between 15 and 20 degrees (C).
